The busiest group in The French Alps - like everybody else in the world of music & entertainment - have been taking things considerably more slowly this winter. For the past 5 seasons, Squid Lips - originally from Manchester - have stormed around the Northern French Alps playing literally 100s of live gigs at Après Venues, Mountain Restaurants, Location Weddings & events of all kinds. We don't need to tell you why... but things are a little different in 2021.
The lads have continued to keep busy with their music careers during these times; offering private music lessons, rehearsing, recording and making future plans has kept everybody busy (ish). But, along with the rest of their industry, The Squids have been hit very hard by the crisis and its restrictions.
So its great to have some "LIVE MUSIC NEWS" at this time as THE 2021 SQUID LIPS VIRTUAL TOUR is launched and promises to bring some amazing shows into your homes from a selection of amazing locations...
Hotel Christiania, Les Gets - March 8th - 20:00 (CET)
Le Tremplin, Morzine - March 12th - 21:00 (CET)
The Kitsch Inn, Les Houches - March 18th - 20:00 (CET)
La Grand Ourse, Mt Chèry - March 29th - 16:00 (CET)
The events will be ticketed live streams rather than 'Free-to-Air' and although the guys thought this was a risky decision, its the only way to make it happen and ensure that the concerts are of the highest quality.
We asked the bass player, Danny for his angle on this... "We have fantastic support on our live gigs and a great community of fans. Last year we did some live streams during the lockdown and these were all free-to-air with viewers offering tips. It worked well and our viewers were very generous, but for this tour we just wanted to try and engage an audience for the whole performance and give them the feeling of attending a gig. We have also invested in a lot of technical equipment to improve the quality of the streams, in terms of sound & vision, so costs are substantial. Its been a tough time for musicians and we just hope people will see the value in what we are offering and help to support us if they can."
At just 25€, fans can see the entire tour - 4 shows - which is great value. Each show will be completely unique with a few line-up variations, different set lists and also features and content about the venue and location of each gig. Alternatively, its just 12€ to see your chosen show. A brand new online channel has been created for the tour which the band have tons of other plans for in the future... ApresSkiTV
Local businesses are asked to support if they can - maybe purchase a batch of tickets for your staff or clients? Any press or sponsorship requests can be made directly with Kinsey from the band - kinsey@breakdownproductions.com
